Christie Nieman is an award-winning​ Australian novelist and essayist, living on Dja Dja Wurrung country. Her novel, Where We Begin, was shortlisted for both the NSW and Victorian Premier’s Literary Award, and won the Davitt Award for best Young Adult Crime Novel and the Children’s Book Council of Australia Honour Book of the Year Award. Her short fiction and essays have appeared in Meanjin, Overland, the Sydney Review of Books, among others, as well as in a number of anthologies. She has a PhD in Creative Writing and Ecocriticism and was the 2024-25 State Library of Victoria Marion Orme Page Creative Fellow.
